I've tried the tutorial in the Subscriber area whereby I'm inserting a box with text on a picture and using the layer style "inner shadow". For some reason, it is not working. No matter which inner shadow I double click on, nothing is happening to the rectangular box on my picture! As a matter of fact, trying anything on that box isn't working.
I created an "adjustment layer" to add a levels adjustment layer to "fade back" the selected area. If I look at the layers palette, I seel the LA layer with the "mask" beside it. But no changes happen to the rectangular after that.
Help!

Kay, thanks so much for the thread! I thought it was me. No matter how many times I tried it, it just wouldn't work. I was gonna give up.
I'll have to try it again now...

Hi Norma ...
This caused some problems when PSE4 first came out and it took a while before we realised that Adobe had changed somethingg within Elements and that it made this past of the tutorial impossible in PSE4 ...
Thank goodness that there are workarounds :)

Which tutorial are you talking about? I looked through the video ones and didn't see it. I've been working through this on my own, and would like to see what the masters say about adding test boxes to pictures.

It's actually not a video- it's in the regular tutorial section in the subscriber area.
