Hey. If you have a few minutes, today's Daily Critique over at www.radiantvista.com (http://www.radiantvista.com) is pretty cool. He's picked a nice shot, and he talks about some interesting things, including something called Golden Mean.
You experts or math folk probably know what that is, but for the rest of us, well, it was educational for me, anyway!

its my second stop everyday. First I come here and then i go there to watch the daily critique. I love this site for photography help and ps help.
My most recent scrapbook magazine just did a HUGE article on golden mean that I honestly didnt pay much attention to. I think I will have to dig it out and read it fully so I can understand this concept. I get the jist of it but would like to TOTALLY understand this concept.

The Golden Mean is also know as the Divine Proportion and is found in almost everything from the human body to nature, architecture, paintings and nearly anything you can think of. It's perfection to a tee :D
Here is a great site if anyone wants to know more about the Golden Mean http://goldennumber.net/life.htm
My husband's passion for Mathematic and numbers gave me a greater understanding of the Golden Mean and now I see it in nearly everything automatically. It's really fasinating.
Mike that radianvista site is a really great site, thanks for the link ;)

Hi Kat - which magazine was that? This is a whole new world of photography terms isn't it:)
It was the Creating Keepsakes March 2005 issue page 119. They are calling it Fibonacci. Aparently thats the name of the guy that discovered this concept. Its actually pretty fascinating. The CK article refrecnced the following websites...
To see a list of places the numbers appear in nature, check out the following websites:

Thanks Kat - I will take a look at that. Just found it and I remember now I was reading that issue in bed and couldn't focus on math at the time. My husband has a doctors appointment this afternoon - it will be a great way to pass the time.
btw have you seen the new magazine Scrapbook Answers? It comes with a DVD of printables, tutorials, fonts etc. Aimed at paper scrappers but really well done.
Thanks again:)
