Placing in pagemaker

After I edit a photo in elements, I save it to a folder. I go to pagemaker, design what I need, go to File -place, find my photo, and pagemaker tells me this type of file cannot be placed. I have it saved as a jpeg.

I have done this for years with the regular photoshop, but elements must be doing something different? Any ideas

I don't have Pagemaker but you might consider saving the file as a pdf instead of jpeg or choosing ' Import' from Pagemaker instead of 'place'...I know, it's more steps...

I have successfully placed photos into pagemaker from elements 2 but I think I have saved them as psd or tif. I will check when I get home.
