I am not aware of any way that you can view a pic full screen while in the Editor, but you can do it from the organizer, at least in PSE 4. Here is how:
Select your poster-sized picture in the Organizer. At the bottom right of the screen, next to the slider that expands and contracts the view of the thumbnails, there are two small squares. Click on the right-most of the squares, and it will put you in full screen mode. If you run your mouse pointer up to the top of the screen, a menu bar appears. Clicking on the X will get you out of the full screen mode.
Not the answer you were hoping for, I fear, but still a better way to view your creation.

It is not exactly clear as to the situation, but here is my possible take on the situation:
I am assuming that, by full screen, you mean that in Editor there are no photo bin and palettes showing....screen is pulled to far right and bottom is pulled all the way down.
If you are asking how to get at the Layers palette because it is hidden by a full screen photo version....with the layers palette visible click on its top bar and move it to the left, then extend the right boundary all the way to the right...then you will have your full screen version and the layers palette. When you are finished with this project, you can always move the layers palette.
I still have doubts as to whether I am understanding this...if all of this as I have guessed at...how did you create the poster and not run into the problem that you are having viewing/editing?
Hope this helps.

To view an image Full Screen in Organizer, just select the image and press F11...
To close the palette bin in Editor and make the "Fit To Screen" view larger, then click the arrow highlighted below:
