:) What Jodi, finished reading already?? I never went on here at all today and I'm still on page one. I'm afraid to see how many pages there actually are. I said I was walking dogs (dog sitting right now) at 9:30 and I have a friend coming over at 11, so I must stick to that schedule. Our little family is just getting too big to keep track of everything anymore !! There isn't even time for our 'fun' chats!! We're all too busy trying to catch up on our reading.

I'm at work and trying to catch up and it's a good thing the boss is not coming in today because I'll never get anything done either.

Well, now that you're finished how about my house. It sure could use a good cleaning! There are just many things I want to do and house cleaning is not one of them but since I'm the only one that likes a clean house I guess it's either I do it or hire a cleaning service!..Hmmmm now there's an idea, but I'd have to clean before they got there.:)

Wendy, yup, ' anything that shows' is all we need to concern ourselves with ;) I leave the rest for the magic pixies :)
Sherrie, "clean before the cleaniing service gets there"??...oh no, girl, we need to talk ;)

I haven't found a workaround for wringing a mop yet. I don't really mind though. I'm not supposed to raise my elbow above the shoulder. Wiping motions are also on the "you'll be sorry" list. Elements, on the other hand, had been theraputic.:D

Oh Jodi, with 3 dogs running thru this house I'd be too embarrassed to let a cleaning crew come in.

I'm thinking that a cleaning crew is suppose to see and clean up dirt, mess, etc. That is their purpose.

I've been home with a sick child for the last three days. Talk about twiddling the thumbs and cooking chicken noodle soup! Well I got the dishwasher cleaned out and moved the piles around a bit in hopes I could do some laundry while DW is at work. The wx has been terrible too but the at least cleaning crew comes on Friday. That is when I get outta Dodge for the day. Tell your DH I will look for him on 20 meters CW.http://www.millan.net/minimations/smileys/yay.gif (http://www.millan.net)

OK Bill got the DW, but am stuck on the wx?????
Someday I gotta really clean this place or else someone might call the health dept. One can only do so much tidying up, if you know what I mean. Then there's the laundry, good lord who's going to do that??
Think I'll just have a nice glass of wine and forget about it.

Bill,
Was that Ham radio speak? I didn't make it past 11 meter.

:D Yeah - That was ham radio speak for an old **** who is staying home these days with a sweet little 9 year old who has been hovering around 38.5C for the last three days. Along with moving th piles of clothes etc we had to take her to the pediatrician yesterday. WX stands for weather and CW means morse code. My station is set up primarily for morse code although I can do the digital modes and SSB too. Wendy husband is a ham too and I often talk to the UK.
Here is a picture of me in my ham shack.

BTW Carol;
We'll be in the DC/Phila. area mid May.

Bill,
That is a sweet shack you have. I tried studying for a license but couldn't get CW. Had trouble with the dits and das. I did a lot of DXing on 11 meter SSB. We have a shortwave with a selection of bands. CQ, CQ, CQ DX.:D

Hi Bill ...
Do hope that the nine year old is now feeling a little better and also hope that the weather cools down soon :)
My husband has just been looking at your shack ... well drooling over it really :)
Last comment was ... oh he has the same scope I have just sold !! and he hasn't worked out what the large bit of equipment is by your left shoulder. Mike says that he will listen out for you ... his call sign is M0MRW
73's from Mike and 88's from me :)

My brother's call letters are VE2DCS, he even got his licence plate made with these letters :)
I remember when I was young, he used to study Morse code and I was sitting next to him, learning too. Though don't ask me today, I don't remember a thing (except for s-o-s...)

Ray ...
When my husband was studing for his licence he had to learn Morse ... everywhere we went he either tapped it out or said it.
I was so glad when he got his licence :)

I must admit, even if I was only 7 or 8 at the time, I was happy he was done with beep-beep-beep-dah-dah-dah... :)
Too bad now he doesn't time to chat anymore (well, chat over Short Waves I mean). He's an electronic repairman.. (I'm not sure how to say this.. he fixes electronic things.. like x-rays, radios, alarms, metal detector, weather thing, etc.. for the government) anyway, he built his radio from parts he bought, from very basic parts (not pre-assembled things) like capacitors, transistors, etc. That was cool seeing the radio being built over several weeks :)

That's what my husband refers to as a cave. He has his cave in the garage (workbench, woodworking tools etc) I have my cave in the house (a bedroom converted to a home office with computer, cameras, etc) and my 16 year old has her cave (bedroom with tv, stereo, computer) and we all live happily in our own little worlds whenever we get tired of being around each other.;)

Funny how we all seem to have the same set of intersecting circles. Wendy, Julianna is in her 4th day home from school. She has spiked her fever up and down since Monday. Se had to miss her Bownie initiation Monday night because of it.
Tat scope is a Tektraonix. I have 2 more if ur OM wants one. Tomorrow is our big radio swap meet so I am going to put a bunch of old gear on the table for sale. The big piece of equipment is a 4-1000A amplifier. About 1200 watts output.
I an empathize with everyone about the code practice. I took me a while to get o 20 words per minute for my extra class license. Now you only need 5 wpm.
Nancy, it seems like Ihave 3 caves. the ham shack, the work shop and the office. Waiting for the weather to get better. That 38.5C was Julianna's temperature Wendy, not the local weather. I is dreadful here with wind and a lot of new snow in the mountains.
Working on fixing the Thailand scene.

Hi Bill ...
Oh my what a temperature for her to have and to miss Brownies initiation too ... that really must have upset her :( Do hope that she us soon well.
Mike is always going to Radio Swaps .. oh my does he bring some stuff home. The Tektraonix was too big for him so he sold it on eBay and bought a smaller one ... he looked longingly at your allowed power. UK limit is 400 watts :( .. he has a AL-811
