Hi there ...

and welcome to the forum :)

Before you install the patterns you need to unzip the zip file. On the Mac I can just double click on the zip file and it opens ... hopefully you can do the same :)

In Windows XP, when you're asked where to extract the files, simply select the following folder :

C:\PROGRAM FILES\PHOTOSHOP ELEMENTS 3\PRESETS\PATTERNS

The zip file, you can store in your documents. The pattern file (extracted in from the ZIP file) goes into the patterns folder.

Hope this helps!

If you click on the Paint Bucket, then at the option bar (under the menu bar) where it says Foreground, click on the little down arrow and choose Pattern.

This will activate the Pattern chip with, again, a down arrow. Click on this down arrow, then click on the right arrow and choose the new patterns in the list.

Your new patterns are also available in the Adjustment Pattern Layer.

From time to time, yes, or that is I don't understand what's posted (like one of Butch's recent post). That said, I do not let this stop me :D
