View Full Version : Acessing the ptBackup folder

I've tried to perform my second backup of my first catalog. I was curious if I would be able to re-write to my DVD RW using the Elements Backup method. All seemed to go well. It recognized the first backup (at least it warned the disc was not empty) and it gave me the choice to erase or find another disc. I chose to erase and it seemed to be doing it's thing according to the progress bar. After "finalizing" I tried to open the catalog now updated on the DVD but all I can see is a folder named ptBackup. Additionally, it appears that the single folder is empty. Do I need to do something else to access my backup? I'm sure glad that I'm not in a situation where I'm desparately relying on that backup.

Times like this I sure wish there was an old fashioned manually that I could thumb through.

I'd love to hear from any of you who have actually seen your Elements backup. I'm hoping that you can tell me what I've done wrong. Is it there and I can't view it or was there a problem in the backup that went un-noticed by the Backup procedure?

Thanks in advance!

I would never use the PSE backup features. There are recognized problems with backup (at least in PSE 3) that Adobe admits to but has not fixed and they advise you on their web site to use other software to back up your files.:(
