I a have been looking for slide show software that allows me to use some great transitions. Vertical Photo slide show software which I would buy in the bundle to get the text animation looks great but I wanted to ask your advice and see if anyone has it. Here is the link:

Some people were loking for wedding ideas. Even if you didn't want to purchase just watching the demos gives you some ideas.

I have an old version of Swif n' Slide....2004 but I see it has improved alot since my version which I paid around $ 30 and I liked it OK. I ONLY bought it so that I could be able to make shows to share on the web that were both Win and Mac friendly. For making shows for my personal use to play on my DVD player I use Pro Show Gold which I like ALOT...which is also an older version...I can only imagine how much better it is now.

I have used FlipAlbum for years to keep my holiday photos. It is a great program and you end up with an electronic album that actually has the "flipping" noise of a book. Once completed and burnt to CD, it is completely stand alone for either PC or MAC. Our Australian caravan trip has 1,000 on the one CD which is just about the limit. You can put in photos (various types), text and GIF for animation (maybe even short videos but that is something I have never done). Music can be added instead of the flipping noise. When our daughter was living in the UK it was a great way to show her where we had been and what we had done.

When our son was married I did a FlipAlbum up for them and they sent copies to friends and family who were scattered around the world. It was a cheap, easy way to share their photos.

Karen ...

I looked at FlipAlbum a while ago ... but I coudn't work out if the Mac version has the same library themes as the Windows version. All the extras say for FlipAlbumŪ 5 and 6 and the Mac version is 3.

Also I couldn't find on the site how much the extra library themes cost and if they are Mac compatable ... it really put me off it :(

Wendy, I don't use the library sets but make up my own because I like to use what is relevant to my 'book' and my tastes :) Also being on a PC, I never had to think about the PC/MAC issues :D

Like Jodi, I've got Proshow Gold (the newest version), and I find it really good.

I have used Flip Album as well as the newest version of Pro Show Gold. While I liked the flip album program alot, it was very limiting. I am sure they have made big improvements since then. I REALLY like Pro Show Gold. I belong to a forum for Pro Show gold just like this one. Some of the things people do with PSG is absolutely amazing.

Good Morning,

Thanks for all you help. It seem so many of you are sold on Pro Gold.
I need to purchase software that I can make some great text transitions with. I make worship presentations for our church services and have some great pictures to use but want to make mini slide shows. Wold you look at this link and tell me if Gold does this also.http://www.verticalmoon.com/products/textosterone/samples.php?exid=12

Thanks

Yes, PSG has a great choice of Text Effects to specify:

1) How the text gets onto the slideshow e.g. fade in
(choice of about 30 effects)
2) What the text should do while it is on the slide e.g.
vibrate (choice of about 20)
3) What the text should do when the slide's duration
is finished e.g. explode (choice of about 30 effects)

Everyone Thanks,

I was so taken by the text effect on this particular software but you have answered my questions. Mike thanks for elaborating on the text part. I did go to PSG web page and saw the list of those who give it high ratings..

It always a tough decision to buy software, you want to get it right the first time. Thanks again

I went with premiere elements 2.0. seems to be pretty full featured. Also, if I decide I need more features it uses similar interfaces etc as premiere pro so the move up is easy. then you can use after effects etc.

same logic as using photoshop elements if you get real serious and want to go to CS the move shouldnt be as hard.

I recently bought and used Pro Show Gold and really like it. The software you are considering looks good too. With Pro Show Gold from Photodex, you can download a free, limited time, fully functioning version (with a gold bar across the screen). That would allow you to see their various text effects. They have quite a large number as I recall.
