I am going to purchase a wireless Wacom..I am thinking a 6x8...I wanted to know who has a Wacom and what model you have. What model should I buy? I prefer to go high end rather than cheap. I just hate to buy things twice..lol

Robert,
Does your computer have BlueTooth? If not, you're gonna have to think about getting a BT adaptor (40-80$, depending on the brand and range).
I have a Wacom Graphire3 6x8 with wire, and I love it! I had a 4x5 previously and to me, the 6x8 is really a big plus. It does use more desktop estate, though.

I am not sure if I have Blue Tooth or not...I have 3 dell's...I know what blue tooth is...How do I check? If not what do I need and where so I get it?
PS One of your past posts are the reason I am now looking at the wireless.lol Just thought you should know. I also have a laptop.

My Powermac didn't have BT (BlueTooth in short), so I got a D.Link adaptor. It connects to USB and works very well. It has a 300 ft range (just about... 290 feet more than what I could possibly want!!)
I'd check in the System properties (control panel, system, then hardware drivers or something alike, i'm not a windows person, so someone will have a better description of this).
Do I have to feel guilty now ?? YESSSSS :)
But I am looking for one myself, just not in the next few weeks though. I'll sell my wired one before.

What model do you like? I am looking on BH Photo..They offered a special at the show on Wacoms if you buy befor March 13th.
I believe (almost 100 percent positive) that we picked up more than one book so if you want to buy from them I can give you the discount code. Only good for a Wacom though. I can e-mail it to you if you want.

I am not in the market just yet, I have to clear a few things before (new glasses, for starters), but thanks for the offer :)

Thanks Ray. I also was considering bluetooth (although they do not come in 4 x 6 and I am told that is all I need for working on photos). I don't think my computer comes with bluetooth so I will just go and look at the 4 x 6 and not worry about the wireless. I don't want to get into having to buy a bunch more add-ons. More than the money it is that I like simple!

I really don't see what the big deal is to have a wireless Wacom. Only one little usb cord wire hooked on to the tablet...it certainly doesn't get in the way....it's not like the pen has a cord on it...
Robert, I may be interested in that code...if I let myself get the Intuos 3, 9 X 12 that is....I'm still trying to decide. I do prefer to buy from B&H.

Jodi,
A cord is a cord and the less I see or have to deal with, the better I feel :) Seriously, I store my Wacom under the desk (where my drawers on wheels are). The cord isn't long enough, so I have to disconnect my Wacom to store it. Connect, disconnect, reconnect, disconnect... Wireless would be just fine!

Shari: Good choice - that's all you need. My 4x6 never moves from my desk so no reason to go wireless and one less thing to go wrong.
