How do I turn off the "checkered grid" in the background behind the images?
How do I tell Elements that I don't want it to be my main PDF viewer?
Thx
Kev

In the "view" pull-down menu (at the top), if "grid" is checked, click on "grid" to turn it off.

Hi Kev ...

I have just had a thought you said checkered grid in the background behind your images ... your don't mean the transparency gray & white check do you

If so then that simply shows which parts of your image are transparent.

Regarding PDF's being opened by Elements ... not sure if you are Windows or Mac so I will give you both:

Windows ..
One way you can do this is to right click on any PDF on your hard drive and select "Open With". Then select the Choose Program option from the menu. Select the program you want to open the PDF from the list and also check the "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file" box.

Mac ..
Single click on any PDF on your hard drive then hold down the Command key and press I. Go to the Open With section and choose the program you want to open the PDF from the list and then click on Change All

Hope this helps :)
