Hi - I'm not really new to the forum. I've been lurking and learning in the shadows for some time, and even posted a time or two under my original user name.

This weekend, I had to cut down a severely damaged river birch tree (one of the many jobs I had put off while I fed my PSE addiction). As I worked, my mind was still on PSE of course, and I noticed the patterns of the bark as it peeled away from the trunk in paper thin strips. I wasn't sure if it would work, but I took some of the larger pieces in to my scanner and scanned them. I used the resulting file as the background of an image I had created.

I like it a lot -- very good work and neat idea!

Welcome to the forum, keep in touch now that you've quit lurking.

What a beautiful background! And it's great with the chapel montage! Glad you came out of the shadows; hope we'll see more of you.

Hi there and Welcome to the forum

Lots of work in that piece of yours, very interesting and well put together.

Now a good man, or woman, would post a scan of the bark so we could save to a pattern :D

Hi,
That is really wonderful. The pattern in the bark is beautiful. This summer I'll try to capture paper birch patterns to share with you.:)

Thanks for the feedback. I liked the results too. It's hard to improve on nature's work.

I'd be happy to share my bark scans. I think I did three. How should I do that? Post them at Pixentral? Private messages?

Hi ...

Oh that works so well ... the bark really does make a great background for the Chapel. Good work too on splitting the Chapel image into all the small ones its very effective and looks good with this photograph :)
