I am trying to figure out how to use Avery templates to set up printing in PSE4. Right now, I am trying to do postcards (5389). Have not been able to find anything about how to use the template right in PSE4 for printing. Have tried in Word (used to do Video face and spline labels just fine), but when I get everything looking right and go to print on my Epson R800, it will not print. Have searched these forums and others without success. Need a step-by-step. Can anyone help or aim me somewhere? Thanks in advance.

In Word, some of those Avery templates come up with a "manual feed" or something like that, so that it just kind of waits and doesn't print. Try poking around with the print options in Word to see if you can switch that off.

I'm also interested in this-I used to do business cards for a friend with another program amd would like to use PSE3 for the same type of project-also postcards.:)

In Word, try looking at "page setup", "paper", then "print options" if you have to take it farther.

I just tried the Avery 5389 postcard template in Word (2003) and it worked fine with my Epson R300. Several ways to do it directly from Elements - the easiest being just to set up a blank document of the right size and drop two 4x6's onto it but with Avery templates I usually find it easiest to do the editing of the images for the cards (business, postcard etc) and then just drop the jpgs into a Word document.

Hello John,
In order to use a template in a software like PSE, you need to gather some information about your printer, first. You need to know the printable area and the margins (the distance where nothing can be printed).
Next, you need to measure the position on the sheet where the image will be printed. Like the first one is at 2.25 inches from the top, 2 inches from the left, and it's 4x6 inches (hypothetical numbers here).
With those numbers, here goes the "fun"...
Top margin on the sheet minus top margin (non-printable area) from the printer = Where the image starts on your new document. Left margin on the sheet - left margin from the printer = where your image starts on the document.
Else, you can find on the web (and I think even Avery offers them) templates for your documents, which would be far easier to use. Avery used to offer a free software for printing on their paper. You could do then the work in PSE, and use this software to print.

Thanks all. I'll give those suggestions a try.
