The above links are something I really want to learn how to do!

First, is there a name for these types of projects? Or is it just working with the different layers?

Any advice on these techniques (websites, archives, examples) would be greatly appreciateed.

I especially like batting series and would like to do it with pitching.

This is strickly a hobby thing, nothing professional.

Thanks

Hi there ...

Not sure if you are a subscriber or not but there are some great tutorial in the subscriber area so its well worth subscribing ..

Regarding the images you show:

1. ... seems to be just a text layer above the image. The image probably has been made up of three of maybe four layer. I would guess that the child has been selected from the photographs and then put into the image (on individual layers)

2. ... I would guess that this is five photographs. The man has been selected, in each one, and then copied into another image ... each one would be on it own layer then they would be position to give the effect.

3. ... Thats more complicated. Basically a clouds background (Filter>Render>Clouds). Then the images of the boy have been added ... with some fire text.

they all would need a reasonable understanding of layers ... if you want to learn about layers then click on "Learning Centre" at the top of the page, scroll down and you will see a Video on Layers.

... if there is any help we can give you then just ask :)

Hi, Your post interested me b/c my husband takes a ton of minor league baseball photos, and I have the fun/challenge of playing with them to make them into collages or printable pictures. (There are a few examples in my gallery). To me the pictures you posted look like pictures blended together (well!) in a montage/collage. Probably for the pitcher shots, the camera is on continuous shoot mode?

Wendy has a tutorial on blending (unless you're already a pro at that):

Let us know how it goes, I'd love to see what you come up with!

I just looked through the subscriber area a bit closer, so I am going to subscribe. That should help a lot.

I know nothing about layers, so I think I need to take to start at the begining.

I put this in the advance elements forum just because I thought it was advance, not me!!!!

Thanks for the tips! I need to do some homework before I get started.

I'll post again when I have a better understanding of the basics!

Thanks Brent

Hi Brent ...

It really is worth subscribing as there is just so much information on the subscriber area (over 90 Video tutorials!!) ... and you get a newsletter 8 times a year too :)

Regarding which subforum you posted in ... well I don't think that we take a lot of notice which one we use as most of us read them all and what is beginner to one person is advanced to another :)

Any questions you have then just ask and one of us will talk you through things ..
