View Full Version : Organiser on two computers

When I'm away from home on working trips, I download my photos and begin organising them on my laptop, and back them up to an external hard drive: I rename the photos to something appropriate and begin to insert tags. However I store all my photos permanently on my desktop and another external hard drive at home. Can anyone tell me how I can import all my work from the laptop to the desktop: using the protable hard drive, I can import the folders with the photographs and filenames OK, but I seem to loose all the tags I have inserted on the laptop. I'm sure there's a fix for this, and I'm sure many others face the same problem, but I haven't been able to work it out. Thanks for any guidance!

Hi Michael ...
... and welcome to the forum :)
I'm sure that I have seen something similar on the forum but I just can't find the thread ... hopefully one of the Organiser Users will be able to help you on this one. A lot of the forum members are in America & Canada so due to the time difference it may be a good few hours before one of them is online ...
Do hope there isn't too much snow where you are :)

Hi Michael,
Welcome to the forums...:)
One way would be to use the external hard drive as a shared drive between your desktop and laptop, so you can then use the "Move" command in Organizer to relocate the files from the laptop to your external drive.
