I love your work. Especially the photo of Auggie. Can you tell me how you made the name text like that? The whole image is lovely. Have you ever tried printing any of your work? I think tomorrow I might try doing a little with my photos and see how the arm goes. I shouldn't be looking at all this beautiful work that makes me want to try...

Thank you Shari. I just posted that one of Auggie after getting back in to my gallery. I used Jodi's wood tut to create the background. Then I added the photo of Auggie and applied a sepia filter (again from Jodi's styles) and lowered the opacity so the wood grain showed through a little. I erased with several different brushes to get the tattered edges. This I used a process from Scott Kelby's book called "carved in stone" to create the text. It is really a pretty simple process. I'm at work now so don't have the steps in front of me but I can get you the instructions this evening. I also cut the wood out using a cookie cutter shape and then applied a bevel and gaussian blur shadow. That's about it!:D I do print a lot of my stuff and frame it for my office at work. The bigger stuff I use sony imagestation for posters but I can print up to 13 x 19 at home.

Nancy ...

That is so good ... I especially like the way you have left some of the wood texture on him. Its very effective ... :)

Thank you Wendy. I did a lot of experimenting with blend modes the get different effects but in the end just lowered the opacity to let it seep through.

Thank you Vesta. I am enjoying this so much. Jodi's tutorial on make wood was my inspiration for Auggie.
