Very nice indeed. Great job Pauline. Those Radiant Vista critiques are paying off. Thanks for calling it to our attention Karen.

That is a very nice image. I really like the frame. Seems to be custom made just for that flower.

Thanks everyone!! Geez two threads. I didn't even bother putting up a notice that I updated my gallery since it was only one picture. I really liked the way it turned out though which is why I added it.
The rose was a gift to my daughter from her boyfriend for Valentine's day. I took a picture of it reflecting in the mirror of her dresser.
The frame is custom made. I was just trying out some steps from my scrappersguide cd, and playing around with different things. It was pretty easy to do, and I decided I liked it to have a simple look since the rose was the main attraction.
Jodi I tried out some of your styles on it too and it came out with a very different effect. There was an oval around the flower and then a rectangle around the outside edge. I think I was using the frames? It was interesting to see the different effects each filter does.

Pauline, ya the frame styles will just wrap itself around 'any' edge...it has no preferences ;)
When you prefer to 'just' have the frame style around the outside edge like a traditional frame would be just create a new blank layer above your image>fill with 50% grey and then apply the frame layer style to it ...set this layer to 'OVERLAY' blend mode afterwards which makes it invisible but the frame will still show.

Hey Jodi, thanks for that tip. I wrote in down with the printed instructions for your styles. It actually was cool the way it turned out to be a frame within a frame, but for the rose I found it was too much. At least I know how to do it if I want it for something else.
Hey does this mean that I can make a selection and fill it with 50% grey and then do a frame style and set over lay and then I can have the frame anywhere I want?? Never knew this before and it solves some issues that I seem to run into when using frames. Sometimes I don't want to frame the whole picture.

Thanks guys. I took quite a few pictures before I got one I like. Working with a mirror reflections is not easy as it reflects everything behind it. I'm glad I did it the day after my daughter got the rose because it sure didn't last long!
