Hi there!
Has anyone experienced this problem? I choose a picture in the organizer, go to the editor, edit the picture, choose Save as... , I don't change the name, PSE says "This file already exists. Do you want to replace it?" (or something like that, I use swedish version). Then I choose Yes and when I return to the organizer, the image has crashed. The thumbnail is there but when I click on it, the frame that appears has a different form than the thumbnail, and when I try to open the picture in the fullscreen view (I don't know the word for it, where you can compare pictures beside one another) the program crashes. I get an error message and PSE is shut down.
This is very frustrating. Not only do I loose the editing work I have just done. I loose all previous work too since the picture I opened is overwritten. Of course I have a copy of the original image, but the editing work I had done so far is lost, so I must start from scratch again.
This bug problem, or whatever it is, comes and goes in periods. The only pattern I've seen is that the problem seems more likely to occur when I have cut the image, thereby changed the number of pixels on one or both sides of the image, but the overwriting procedure shouldn't cause any problems anyway.
Now, for safety, I save one image with the same name, replacing the old one, so I dont have to tag it again, and a copy with a different name, in case the first one should crash.
Is this a known bug in PS Elements 3.0 and if so, can it be fixed with an update or otherwise? This problem has ocurred even after reinstalling Windows XP completely (for other resons) so I don't think it is a Windows related problem.
I would be most greatful for any explanation of what causes this.
