Sketch and Montage

Hi,
The background for this is a sketch of a Great Tit I did using Scott Kelby's tut. I then added a few other birds to make the montage.
Just for Alice and Raffy I included a Jay.

As usual Key, a very nice Monage...I was wondering though, does the grey background bird have a name, 'cause it doesn't look like any of the others....I'm not hep on bird spieces....:D

I think you mean the background. It is a Great Tit or to give it its formal name - Great Titmouse.

Dorrie, it may be a funny name but it's been called that since Anglo Saxon times ( with variations to fall in line with modern language).
There are quite a few members of the Titmice family.

Great montage Kev.

I just love the Jay.......we get them in the park alot near our house and sometimes even in our backyard, but I've never been quick enough to get a good shot of one......(yet :D )

Thanks.
Jays as you know are very shy birds but if they have a cold spell of weather and you put food out they will come and settle.
You have to be ready to grab the shots and hope you get a good one.

Well you see folks, it's just that I had a dislike for birds when I was a child (many, many years ago) because of a Canary that my mother had, thus I have not educated myself on the wonderful species of outdoor birds.

I have since come to enjoy the wild birds very much and Kev you did a wonderful display, and thanks for the education on their name. I won't say 'WEIRD" anymore. :(

I think that some of the names are weird too.
We have a green woodpecker but a lot of people call it a Yaffle, because of its cry.
