View Full Version : Stacking Problem

Having used the PSE 3 Stack photos feature successfully in the past, all of a sudden it doesn't work. When I try to stack 2 or more photos, PSE 3 creates a stack behind each of the photos with all of the selected photos in each stack. I can reveal the photos in each of the stack, but no option to Unstack.

Has anyone experienced this problem and have a solution? If so I'll appreciate your help or comments. The only thing I can think of is Uninstall and Re-Install.

Have you tried "File > Catalog > Recover" yet?

John,

I haven't had this happen, but I will look into it later. Check back in a few hours...

John,

I can't replicate your problem... Is there anything different about these photos? Do any version sets, tags or collections apply to them?

Mike,

I created a new catalog, and brought in 10 photos, some jpg and some tif. Some were original and some were edited. They were all taken within the past couple of days. all had been in the previous catalog. Tried to Stack three of them and got the same problem. Three seperate stacks were created, one for each photo. I could reveal the photos in the stack but, the option to Unstack was grayed out.

Went back to my original catalog, which did have categories, sub-categories and tags on the problem photos. I looked at some of the photos I had previously stacked where the stack was created OK, however, on these stacks, the option to Unstack was grayed out and all I could do was reveal the photos.

I'll take a couple of new photos and bring them into the new catalog, see what happens, and let you know.

Mike,

ps... None of the problem stacks had any photos with Version Sets, or collections, just tags.

Mike,

Took 3 new jpg photos, created a new catalog, and brought them in from the hard disk folder I created for them. Tried to stack them, and got the same problem, three seperate stacks, one for each photo, with all three photos in each stack. Could reveal them but, Unstack option was grayed out. When the photos were revealed, the only options were to select one or two and remove them from the stack or set one as top photo. When I removed two from one stack, it removed two from all three stacks, ie unstacked all three of the stacks.

John, just use "View > Collapse All Stacks" or press Ctrl-Alt-Y :-)

I am having the exact same problem after installing PS2 on a new computer and installing the old photos. Now even new photos stack just like you say. Did you ever find a solution?
Thanks
