I really like that puzzle piece montage you have in your gallery! That's a neat idea. I like the background picture as well! Very cool-loooking ship. You also did a nice, subtle frame. If finishes the image very nicely, but doesn't grab the eye and take attention away from the subject.
Thanks for sharing it!

Thank you so much for the kudos! It was really fun to do! I always find it difficult to set it off with a proper frame afterwards, and look at it for a few days, trying everything under the sun. Then I usually opt for the understated. That's just a frame I made using the Style from Adobe Studio Exchange called, "Laurie's Glass." I'm a real fall guy for Layer Styles! Gettin' way too many!
Thank you, again!

Kay--I was looking through the book Designing With Digital (It's great, by the way!) and saw a pile of postage stamps artfully piled and thought of the puzzle cookie cutter in PSE. It was really fun to do.
Thank you,

Oh, I've never tried the puzzle cookie cutter. Was it hard to do?
And I'm looking for another book- you'd recommend Designing with Digital? Who wrote it?
Thanks!

The book is from Autumn Leaves--autumnleaves.com. I got one for my daughter and me at a "regular" scrapbook shop. It's in the format of a stiff-cover magazine and comes with a CD included that has many brushes and kits from the designers. The ideas aren't old-fashioned, but aren't trendy, either. I guess that it was a book that had everyone buzzing, because my daughter was so excited when I gave it to her! (And I hadn't a clue!) But I love Anna Aspnes' style and she's in there. (The book is $20.)

Sabrina-- Thank you! I used the cookie cutter puzzles shape in PSE on each pic and wound up with MANY layers! More than I've ever tried to use before. Saved PSDs many times in progress, as I've read here about the tragedies that can beset one when the system crashes, or power goes out, etc.

Thanks! I have downloaded--it really has some sool things, rain, snow, fog...... I am going to enjoy this!!!!!!
Your puzzle thing is extra cool. I am so new to this...do you add a drop shadow and bevel or does the piece come like that?
Thanks, again!

Sabrina--I did add a drop shadow. After I arranged the puzzle pieces the way I liked them, after MANY versions, I linked them all together and added a drop shadow to the whole bunch, instead of adding the shadow one at a time. I don't remember if I used a bevel or not--you can try it on one piece and see what you like. It's fun to experiment.
Let us see your creation when you're finished! It's fun to share and get ideas from one another. Each person has their own interpretation.

Oh, forgot to say--I made each piece individually and saved each one as a PNG file. Then put them on the background photo and had to resize many with the transform process to get what I thought was a pleasing look.

I just have to tell you that Daisy is just about the cutest darn thing I've ever seen! We have a Westie named Rudy but he just isn't quite as cute.

Nancy, Daisy is the greatest dog! Our kids are grown and gone now, so this is the first dog we've had on our own. She's a delight--pure terrier!
She runs outside all day, but is a lapdog at night, which I guess is unusual for the lively Westie. Rudy looks pretty cute to me! They can't always be laughing!
Gotta go fix dinner now--thanks for a nice afternoon!

Hi Betty
thanks for the link to the "bubble" effect. One question where did you download it to? I tried to put into my plugins but it doesn't seem to be working there.

Anna--I installed mine so long ago that I can't quite remember, but it does wind up in your Filters menu, and it should do it automatically since it's an exe file right. I mean, you don't physically put it into a folder like you would if you download a brush or a Layer Style..
Dorrie H was having trouble getting it into PSE last night and it finally did it for her, both in PSE 3.0 and 4.0, as I understood her to say in the other thread that concerns these bubbles.

As I said over on that one, Gary H. had a solution last year, and maybe he can help--I don't have much computer knowledge when things are amiss.
I hope that it works out for you.

Thanks Betty but I think it is a lost cause for me...:( No matter what I try I can't get it to install properly. I get two choices either to Save or Run if I save it I need to name a place to put it and when I do that it doesn't work. If I Run it I get an error message. So, I guess I will just have to enjoy the work of others. But it certainly looks like a lot of fun to play with.

After you save it - go locate it and double-click it. It will then start an install program.

Hi Nancy
Ok here's my problem when I go to "Save It"and then try to "install" it I get and error message which reads:
16 Bit Windows Subsystem
c:\Windows\System32\Autoexe.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows application. Choose close to terminate application.
Do you or anybody know what this might mean? I for one don't have a clue.
