Thanks.

Connie,
you can use plugs- ins in Elements.
I use mainly filter ones that allow alterations to your images, such as Xero.
If you do a google search for Xero it will show what the filters are and how to download and install them.

Hi Connie,
Juergen just posted a good link the other day that explains plugins:

Connie,
Plug-ins can act in several ways :
- Shorten the time spent editing images by providing "recipes" for alteration
- Enhance a functionnality of the software (like Virtual Painter which help create waterpaint effect, etc.)
- Add things or texture like digital backdrops
- Frame or embillish an image
- Do things which would be really complicated to do otherwiser (DreamSuite, Mystical Lighting, etc.)
And more...
I don't have many plug-ins (two or three, not more), like Mystical Lighting, Dreamsuite Gel, Spyrograph (this one is a selection tool rather than a plug-in).
As you get better and better, you'll realize most of what plug-ins do can be done manually. Some you can't, and those you buy, or download the demo and see what they do :)

Thanks for the information. I downloaded the article on Plug-in Essentials, and I'll read it soon. Does the selection plug-in work well?? I have a hard time making nice selections with Elements 3.

Connie,
This is not a selection plug-in per se, it helps creating complex spyrograph pattern (like the kit kids have, or used to prior to the computer era!)

Here's a great resource to show you what plug-ins are currently available:
Plugs 'N Pixels (http://www.plugsnpixels.com)
More titles are added as I come across them.
