Perhaps some more info - what is significant about the 7?

Hi Nancy.

I was in a funny mood today. The 7 represents both of the subjects of the scene. First the seven deadly sins and second the Seventh Seal. I was trying to create a composite image that represents the revolution of both into the black hole of death. I am still learning, though and I am not really satisfied with it yet.:(

Sometimes simple is better

THE SEVEN

in a big - slasher type font. I was suspecting that's what they were but the symbol in the center threw me.

Also Bill, if I may - here is a tut for making transparent graphics that would look really cool with this. It is the last tut on the page.

There are some cool things in the shapes under nature that would work with this tut and your concept.

Are you thinking of the spiral? One of my thoughts was to cause the last image to be more distored and flowing into the black hole. The spiral was made from a flattened diamond.

Bill you can use any number of shapes there. I just grabbed a wave and duplicated it and reversed it to link them in the middle to create a longer wave. This is just a sampling of how you can combine the shapes. I then applied the tut and came up with this. You can certainly use any other shape and I suspect even erase some of the line if you simply the layer and do it before you flatten the image. You can also stretch the waves for less curves.

You can also just take your mouse or tablet and draw a line the shape you want with a paintbrush set to about 20 pixels and apply the tut. It works just the same. I get really different results when changing the blending mode to hard light or pin light or any others. Play around with them for some neat effects that would go well with this theme.

Here's one I used the tut on:
