I'm hoping someone can help me to solve a mystery. I was working on a lesson and was finishing up a mask in the background when suddenly it disappeared. Normally I'd just start another mask but now the mode option for my background is disabled. I'm hoping that means my mask is still somewhere to be found but I wouldn't know where to look. It's definately NOT listed in my layers pallet.
Any ideas?

Welcome to the forums!

If the document is still open, go back a few steps in the history palette, you might recognize a command you did which made the layer disapear (erased).

Hi there ...

Thanks for the suggestion. I see an Undo History option under the Windows menu but no "View History" palette. I have been fumbling along and found my option to select the Mask option again (once I reselected the Selection Brush). All my selections for the Mask were still set but no mask. I tried to start a new one but my selection brush doesn't cover with anything. I left the default red and adjusted the hardness to 0 and Opacity to 50%... I could see the mask as it was applied last time. Your help is greatly appreciated!
