I e-mailed the software co and they said I should findit under automation and if its greyed out call Adoble. Can anyone in this area. All my elements books dont even mention automation. Thanks

Hello and welcome to the Forums, photoman !

Could you post the URL where you got the download? One of us will be able to download and probably help you with what's going wrong.

Sorry if it's taking long time to complete... The plug-in has been installed, however, there's nothing where there should be something.

I'm still researching this.

I think I have found it.. You need to browse where the File Format folder is. Typically, when the installer offers you a folder location, click on Browse and then pick:

C:\PROGRAM FILES\ADOBE\PHOTOSHOP ELEMENTS\PLUG-INS\FILE FORMATS

Then, follow the installer. If photoshop elements is running, then quit and restart.

Hope this helps!

Ray
P.S. I was able to get it running for PSE2 (under Windows XP).

Similar to prev problem... I downloaded a trial version of genuine fractals. I am supposed to access it under file/automation tools. The 'automation tools' is greyed out.

My situation ---
I am running PSElements V7.0 on a 3GHz PC, XP Home Edition SP3, 1GB memory.
Downloaded Genuine Fractals 6 Today 8/3/09. Installed against PSE 7 directory (PSE 3.0 was also a choice).

Found plugin in this directory:
C:\PROGRAM FILES\ADOBE\PHOTOSHOP ELEMENTS 7.0\PLUG-INS\GENUINE FRACTALS 6.0.PLUGIN\

After problems, copied the contents of plugin directory into:
...\PLUG-INS\FILE FORMATS
and restarted Elements.
Still greayed out.

Help! ? (first post in this forum, thank you)

Question, have you opened a image first...the option will be greyed out until an image has been opened..I know I found that one out myself:)

I just got elements and know nothing about it, so maybe I'm confused, but I have an open file with an image showing on the screen and it is still greyed out. I even selected the image to see if that made a difference and it didn't.

Intersting, if the plug-in is working correctly then upon opening an image the option should be available..I know it is on mine and I have the same software versions..I can only suggest at this point to un-install & re-install..if you are not using PSE3 than I would remove it as well

Are you sure that the plug-in works in Elements? I have version 5 and it does not. That's one reason why onOne put a scaled down version of it in Elements Essentials.

The website product listing syas Photoshop, and I didn't see anything about Elements.

Thank you all,
It looks like my problem is that I need to convert my CMYK image to RGB, which I have no clue about, or use the professional version. At least that's what the answer was on the FAQ page. I now have to figure out how to convert my image and see if that indeed is the problem.

Thanks

You can try FSviewer (its freeware) to convert them in batch mode, the option is under the settings tab in batch mode convert
