Is anyone having trouble placing the copyright symbol using the ALT 0169 key strokes? I can't seem to get it to work.

Start = Programs - accessories - system tools - character map.

Then pick your font and cut and paste.

If using a laptop or no numeric pad it often will not work with the alt = number method.

Hi there ...

I gather that you have used Elements before and it is just PSE4 that you are having problems with the copyright symbol. I don't think that anyone has mentioned problems with it ... but hopefully one of our PSE4 users will be able to check that out for you later today.

If you are using a laptop then you need to use the laptops numeric keyboard for the numbers :)

To add to this: Hold both the Alt and Fn keys and type MJO9

Or cut and paste this character.. (if it ever makes it to the board..)

If you are having trouble accessing the copyright symbol there may be a number of reasons. Two notable are

Your text you are using may not support the symbol.

You may not be using the numeric key pad to type in the numbers.

Now if all else fails a copyright symbol can be found in Custom shapes under Symbols library.

Thanks everyone, all good advise. I was trying to use the number keys that are located under the function keys (PC). When I turned the num lock on and used the number key pad, it worked. Sorry to be a pain, thanks again.

Hi Richard ...

Glad that you have now managed to sort it out :)

Are you working on something special ?

Wendy,

Nohing special. I am starting to post pictures on some web sites and it was recommended I add some type of copyright. On many images I have seen, if you hover over the image a little message pops up, "This Image is Copyrighted by the Owner" or something like that. Also I am told people will borrow images from the internet, imagine that, so a watermark of some type is also suggested.

Checked out Wendy's World, very nice work. Elements is great but you still need the artist's eye, you seem to have it.

This is off topic, but why haven't we heard more about the increased 16 bit functionality in 4.0?

Hi Richard ...

Thanks for the compliment about my gallery. You should start a gallery here yourself ... it would be nice to see some of your work :)

I'm a Mac user and we don't have PSE4 version for the Mac yet ... but from what I understand the 16 bit capabilities of Elements are pretty limited :)
