When I open up all of my photo folders, I have them dating back to 5/03, and I want to store them somehow and delete all of the folders, so I dont have to search thru them all to find a particular picture. I have tagged them in the Organizer, but I dont know if I can or how to delete the folders. If I do delete the folders, will that delete the pictures from my hard drive as well? Or, will they still be stored in the file manager? Can anyone out there help me with this??
Thanks
Teresa

Teresa!!!
Do not delete your folders! Your photos are stored in the folders they were in when you loaded them into the Organizer. The Organizer just has thumbnails which are mapped to the original image.
Now that you've loaded them into the organizer and tagged them appropriately there really is no need for you to even look through your photo folders but you do need to leave them there.
Also you can delete photos from the Organizer. Select photo, right click, delete from catalogue. Move them on your hard drive by selecting. Then go file, move.

Okay, so you dont think I should delete any of the folders??
I did notice last night when I was working with the Organizer, some of the tags had a "check mark" on the tag. Do you know what that is for, or what that means?
Thanks

I was writing a reply similar to Norm F's when I got the dreaded "not logged in" when I hit Post Reply.
One addition would be what to do with new pictures. They have to go somewhere on your hard disk. You could just use the generic My Pictures folder and not worry about making subfolders for them.
If you really want to remove the existing folders for some reason:
Decide which folder you want to hold your pictures (they have to be somewhere on your hard drive).
Using Organizer, move the pictures to this folder. If you do this outside of Organizer, you will lose the links to your picture and will have to re-connect them.
Once you have moved the pictures, you can then delete the empty folders.

Thanks for all of the help.
Now, I'm going to change the subject. I was just looking in the Gallery section and saw some pictures by Kayser. Does anyone know how I can contact this person to find out how they did the shot where the pictures are displayed on a film strip. Cute idea....
Thanks Again!

Hi Teresa ...
In the subscriber area there is a three part tutorial on how to create a film strip and included with the last part is a downloadable custom shape of the strips.
Here is a link to the thread we had going at the time ... it has quite a lot of information and film strips in it :

That filmstrip effect is one of the more popular ones; it really makes the pictures stand out. You'll find a lot of good examples of this in the gallery. I made mine well after everyone had tried this out. Good luck with this one!
