Hope this is the right place to ask this question.

I'm looking at the IOGEAR GCS632U 2 port with audio, are they any good.

For those of you who maybe unfamiliar with these switches, they allow you to use two computers with one monitor Keyboard and mouse.

I just purchased a new Dell XPS400 strictly for Photoshop work, 2 each 300GB hard drives 2GB ram Pent 4 dual core Processor 3.4GH etc.

I'm not going to hook this computer up to the internet I don't want it corrupted in any way thats why I want to use the KVM, I'll down load any files to a USB 2GB memory stick and transfer my files to the other computer for download to the internet that way.

Thanks

Steve

I have a D-Link KVM switch and it mostly works fine - I finished up using a separate mouse as switching the mouse wasn't too reliable. I have my old computer networked with the new one so file transfer is pretty straightforward. Must admit I started out with good intentions of using both but the new one is so much faster than the old that it doesn't get a lot of use any more :)

I have used a KVM with my desktop and laptop for several years - they are networked and I use both a lot. No problems with either the monitor, keyboard or wireless mouse. :)

We bought one recently - an IOGear, even, but without Audio. We bought a second computer at the same time. The second computer died within 15 minutes, but the KVM switch works fine. I did notice a slight delay for the mouse to start working, but it was minor. (The KVM did not cause the computer to die, it had a bad power supply. Of course, now the seller is out of the one we bought, so we have to wait until they get more in stock. Bummer.)
