As I'm still learning PSE3, maybe it already does this, but personally I'd like to be able to add more than 1 audio track in a Creation, instead of the same one repeating itself over and over. In addition, I wish it would also show you an elapsed time as to how long the slideshow, etc. will be.... IMO that would be a great tool in assisting one to pick out audio tracks for it.

You seem to have an extensive background in computer, so perhaps you knew this already, but if not... you can merge several tracks into one and use this merged track as you audio for your slideshow.

Thought I think this would be a very good idea, there's a workaround in the meantime.

Ray, my background was mostly with Tandem mainframes and that was over 10 years ago. My PC knowledge is average at best. No, I didn't know there was a way to merge audio tracks. Is there a seperate programme I need to look into, outside of creating a playlist in WMP? You are a Mac user, so I imagine that those have all kinds of great things that can be done, being the uber media machine it is! :)

I would use iTunes (but I am not sure the Windows verison of iTunes understands Windows Media file). Else, go to www.download.com (http://www.download.com) and browse their repository for a free simple audio editor. Basically, you open one file, copy it's content. Open the next one, move the play head at the end, and paste the first file. There, you have a merged two tracks single track. Save as MP3.

If iTunes can read WMP, then you could join two tracks, burn this track on a CD-RW, reimport this one track and you'd be done.

On the Mac, there's several ways of doing this..

- Using Quicktime Pro (if you have it)
- Using Garage Band (free with every modern Mac)
- Using iMovie (yes, iMovie) and exporting the result as Sound File only.
- Using iTunes

And I am probably missing a few ones!

You can add multiple audio tracks to a slide show as well as trim down the time an audio file plays and add gaps between audio.

The simplest way to access the panel where this can be done is to double click on the music bar at the bottom of the slide show. (Where you see the title of the audio file). This will open another window that will let you add audio files, move the files around and change the play length of the files.

I've been using PE3. I've done some great slide shows and put tons of music to them. Just did one for my folks of the construction of their new home. It's about 20 minutes long and I have about a dozen or so different audio clips.

I just got PE4 earlier this week but haven't even had a chance to load it yet. :mad: I'm anxious to try the new slide show features.

Thanks for this tips and the screenshot. Did you find you could access this audi window in PSE4 as well as PSE3? I tried to get at it by double-clicking in PSE4 on the music track bar, and nothing came up. I'm trying to insert music in my custom slide show between two other pieces of music, and think this audio window might be just the trick--if I can figure out how to access it.
