Now that we’ve had a week to travel about, it’s time to settle back down. This week's theme is Valentine’s Day, and it is a collaborative effort with Grant’s upcoming challenge.

Grant had earlier asked for input saying “I would like to do a Valentine Challenge but .... I have no idea or image for this one. Please send me ideas and/or images that you feel would be good for this Challenge. Remember that this type of challenge could be hot, mushy, romantic, tender, macabre, even bloody remembering how Al Capone celebrated the day so.

So grab your camera and get the perfect Valentine shot, then before you do any embellishing send it off to Grant for consideration for his next challenge. Grant has asked for large submissions, about 1 meg in size.

Once you’ve sent your photo to Grant you can feel free to transform it to your liking for this thread. The posting deadline is Sunday, February 12.

One last suggestion to make this thread more manageable to view, please post only your entries in this thread. Post your comments in the accompanying ‘comment’ thread.

This should be an interesting Challenge. For the images that you will send to me please make them about 1 meg in size ... I will scale all the selected image to fit the Challenge templates. Please set the Subject: line as "Valentine Suggestions" and in the e-mail indicate how you want your name to appear. All suggestions must be received by 5:00 pm EST Thursday February 9th this gives me time to build the Challenge Current Page. Send your entries to challenge@cogeco.ca I will select one.

Well - we had sun here today so I went over to the lake at the cemetary. Ok - so maybe a cemetary isn't the best place to look for a valentine's challenge but these little cupids are what valentine's day is all about. I cut out the background (tombstones) and replaced with a gradient, a nice stock frame style and text and added a metal layer style to both. No one would ever know...

When I saw the challenge was Valentine's Day, my first thought was ooh:( . You see Valentine's Day is not such a big deal in my neck of the woods. I did a google for Valentine and came up with a few ideas and then went looking for what I needed to put them in a photo. $5 for a card (which I promptly cut in half!) and $4 for the red rose and this is it.
