Alice it really doesn't feel like Winter ever arrived! It's more like early spring this year. Too much rain for my liking! (and all that sand that Shilo carts in the house after our walks! :( )

HI,Pauline-I know what you mean.Mild here ,too, which makes me nervous. It was like this 2 years ago, just before we had a big ice storm, and lost our power for 36 hours. Some were out for 3 days, and that's no fun when the temp.dips below 30 F.So I'm not counting any unhatched snowstorms.

Alice,
Echo again - brilliant. I don't mind winter because it hasn't ever arrived! We have had a few cold days and a few flurries but haven't really had a winter.

Alice,
No the last bad ice storm we had here was about 20 years ago. We were without power for 5 days and the temp was in the teens. My oldest daughter was just 4 then. We had to huddle around a kerosene heater because we couldn't go anywhere - the roads were too bad. It happened on New Year's Eve and a lot of people got stranded. Haven't had anything really bad since then, a few 6 or 8 inch snows but very little else.

Well, now I don't feel so hard done by-that would not be a fun way to spend New Year's!
Thanks,Jodi! (I hate to ask,but what does LMAO stand for?I'm not up on my web-ese.Thanks!)

Alice,
That is brilliant and clever. We had a short winter in December, I don't think trees & shrubs went into full dormancy this winter.
Nancy,
We call the late winter storms March Madness around here.

Thanks, guys!(And girls!!!) And thanks for deciphering the acronym,Mark! Here is an emoticon I got from a book by Dave Barry,"Dave Barry in Cyberspace":
:-D* person laughing so hard that he/she doesn't notice that a 5-legged spider is hanging from his/her lip.
My favourite: >8-O-(&) person just realizing that he has a tapeworm
And I'm sooo envious,Cathy-buttercups in February! Cooool!

Way too funny! Poor Raffy, saw his shadow! Tell him to stay in when the sun is shining, that way spring may get here a little sooner. I'm so ready!
