Hi,
Gradually getting the hang of the tools in PE4.
The giraffe was cut out using the magic extractor, then I applied one of Deke's edge tools.
Comments welcome.

Hi Kev,
Wow! Nice image and a very clean cut. Where do I learn a little more about Deke's tools?
Thanks.

Kev, giraffes are one of my favourite animals. As we were driving away from the airport at Nairobi (Kenya), I said to our driver I really wanted to see giraffes and he pointed away from where I was looking and said, well there you are, there's some giraffes!! Giraffes were the first and last animals I saw in Kenya - they are so graceful.

Norm, Karen and Wendy,
Glad you like it. Giraffes are nice animals. Wendy, do you remember the nation wide concern when the one at Marwell did the splits and couldn't get up?
Norm,
Deke McClelland's styles come on a CD with his book - Photoshop Elements 4 one-on -one. I believe there is one for PE3.

Great work Kev.
I assume the magic extractor is only in PSE4. Do you find it a worthwhile tool? Does it replace something in PSE3 or is it just something additional?

Robyn,
It is an additional tool in PE4.
It works best when the background is not too busy.
When it works it's brilliant.
I still keep PE3 for Grant's tools etc.

Kev,
Very nice extraction! How did you pick up all the little hair in his ears and mouth? Do the edge tools have something to do with that?

Jack- it should be showing up in Kev's first post in this thread. It's from Image Shack, so there could be problems with the site if you're not seeing it.

Hi,
thanks for your nice comments.
Nancy
according to Deke, his edge style does pick out details and boy does it work.
Kev:) :) :)

Hi Kev, very nice work. It's hard to believe the giraffe was cut and pasted. The edging is perfect. Great job!!!
