Hi there,
As a new kid on the block I am happy with my PE4. I moved up from PE1 so it was mind boggling to say the least. I took advantage of the two free lessons and as a result am taking the basic on-line course. My problem is that there was a technique in the first free lesson that I liked and could use but I didn't take notes. I can't seem to be able to view it again. Can anyone help? It was the cutting 2-3% off the sides to make people look slimmer. Thanks

Hi,

Welcome to the forums..:)

To make people slimmer, go to Image > Transform > Free Transform, then left click and hold on the centre-right handle and drag it in. The amount you are adjusting is shown in the W window on the toolbar.

Hope this helps.

Also, in the video (if I'm remembering correctly) and in Scott Kelby's book, he says not to go much smaller than 95%. And once you're done slimming, you can crop the photo (using the crop tool) to get rid of the white space you just created. Good luck!

As I remember it you would go to Image - Resize Image - and choose % as the method and choose 98% for the width. Very cool trick!:)

Kay,

You are right, when dragging the handle in it's best not to go beyond 95%...

Hey, that works for me, actually both ways. Glad I asked, now I can get on with my lessons and not feel too foolish.
