What version of PSE are you using? Some of Grant's tools do not work in PSE4.

Do i have to create a layer or something first?No... the Channel Mixer tool will add a new layer...

when you put the arrow over it a circle with line tru it appearsI haven't seen this... even in PSE4 where the Channel Mixer doesn't work. Are you on the Background Layer when this happens?

The first box on the left should be "Original"... I do get a "no entry" icon when I place the mouse over that... I think there is something wrong with how Grant's Tools have installed.

Yes... the Channel Mixer is the second box. Here is what my Styles & Effects Palette looks like. The Channel Mixer is the middle box on the top row:

Are you ok now?

Ok... I suggest that you also delete the Preferences file before installing the tools again.

I am confused what do you mean delete preference file? Thanks

Ok... PSE keeps a file of the preferences and settings you make. Sometimes this file can become corrupt. Whenever PSE doesn't work how it is supposed to deleting this file and recreating it is the first trouble shooting step. When you delete the file as described below, PSE will creatre a new one when you launch the program again. This is like restoring the factory defaults...

To delete the Preference file, close PSE, then launch Editor and then straightaway hold down the CTRL, ALT and SHIFT keys together. Keep holding these keys until a windows comes up asking if you want to delete Settings, select Yes. Then let PSE load normally.

Let me know how you get on...

Glad that you fixed it...

Matt K did a great tutorial on using the Channel Mixer in Volume 2, Number 5 of the PET Magazine... if you don't have that, here is a link to a tutorial:

Thanks for all your help I guess you do not have both programs and that the
one in the tutorial is similar right?

I only have PSE3 and PSE4. The tutorial will work in PSE using the Channel Mixer plug-in, but there is one thing to remember - unlike in Photoshop, you can't go back later and change the settings in the Channel Mixer using plug-ins in PSE.

I used the Channel Mixer on the powerstation image in my gallery... if you have any questions just let me know.

Have a look at this image :

Click where the red arrow is, and look at the first two items of this opened list. You will see what you're looking for.

EDIT: You've asked the same question in this other thread, but somehow you did not seem to notice my answer : http://www.photoshopelementsuser.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5867
Let me know if the answer wasn't satisfactory, I can try to explain it differently.
