I'm trying to learn the ins and outs of my new Maxxum 5D. In Color Mode - I have 10 possible options two of which are "Adobe RGB" and "Embedded Adobe RGB". Supposedly these two have greater color gamut then regular sRGB. Anyone know which might be the better choice? I'm using Mac OSX.4.3, Photoshop Elements 3, and an Epson 2200 printer.

I think it depends a lot on your experience in digital editing. The books I've been reading lately suggest that the "Adobe RGB" modes require more knowledge of the complexities of color management. They suggest sRGB is a good starting point.

indeed the Adobe rgb has a wider color gamut..the difference between the two is that one is embedded with Adobe rgb '98... which is for use with a full color managed workflow. If you are unsure use Adobe rgb and also try sRGB.

If you choose to go with AdobeRGB, you'll have to change PSE colour management to Full, in order to respect AdobeRGB colour profile embedded in your pictures.
