The last map we did was to track delivery of the newsletter. This map is for everybody - all members of the forum not just newsletter subscribers.

It's easy - just go to http://www.frappr.com/petforummembers and plant your flag.

Let's see how many we can ring up at this new year! :)

Hi Grant
Tony was able to get his Ontario town to take - maybe Tony can give us a step by step.:)

I will try to keep this link from getting buried -
It's easy - just go to http://www.frappr.com/petforummembers and plant your flag.

If you're not in the US then you have to click "not in the US" - then try your nearest town. If it doesn't find it try somewhere further away. It does know about Dundas, Ontario. If you don't like where it put the flag you can move it - so I did indeed stick it in my backyard although you might have a little trouble getting there since Google Maps doesn't know where the street I live on really is ;) . But if you're passing by just drop in :). Wasn't quite sure which colour to pick after that baby contest

I tried adding myself, and now it says "Remove Me" where everyone else has a "House, a Envelope and a person symbol" .....What did I do wrong?

I'm with you Chuck.....I don't really want to put my email address down for that very reason.

I hate getting spam too so I use a Gmail or yahoo freebie address. They are also handy for sending yourself those important photos or other files that you haven't backed up yet. They both offer gigs of space and when they fill up with junk it's not on your machine.

To keep the linking information available easily

It's easy - just go to http://www.frappr.com/petforummembers and plant your flag.

Just a couple of notes:
You can move the map with your mouse or the controls on the left side of the screen. To move map with your mouse just left click and hold and drag.

Your email address will not appear anywhere - their privacy policy looked very sound to me and unless you want to be notified when new flags are planted I would think that you can use any email.

The Remove me appears beside only your name so that if you choose to drop out you are the only one who can do that.

As of this morning the UK had a lot more flags than Canada ;)

That's because we all slept in because we were up late watching our election results come in :D

I think you can safely "forge" an e-mail address, if you're scared about revealing your own.

Lucky you ... I am a mess every morning!

I have added my flag to the group and this silly program will not accept Dundas Ontario so I chose Ancaster then moved my flag right to my back yard (take note stalkers). My wife says the flag doesn't go well with the Japanese maple but I suspect she will learn to live with it.

Mary,

I understand that the "Remove Me" will do just that, but why doesn't anyone else have that. Everyone else has the other symbols. I don't want mine to say "Remove Me", otherwise I will have to do just that.

Dorrie ...

Each one of us see "Remove me" but only next to our own names :) ... so you can remove yourself but you can't remove anyone else :)

Its lonely over here ... as no one else from the UK has added their flags yet!

Thanks Wendy for the explaination..I have removed myself as it kept showing me as Blue on my Map. Red on the general Map, but I don't want to be listed as a Male. Now I'd like to know how to Unsubscribe altogether.

Stop whining George!! When Gary comes along we'll both be lost!! Oh, I forgot it's your birthday, you get one day of whining! (make sure you stay in Orillia though, I hear enough from my kids!) Here comes the snow!!!

Pauline

Stop whining George, I hear enough of that at home. Oh, I forgot, it's your birthday, you can whine for the day. Just make sure you stay in Orillia!! It's snowing like crazy right now! (both here and in Mississauga where my husband works)

Once Gary adds his name we'll both disappear!

G. OReilly
January 24th, 2006, 04:12 PM
:) Pauline..Gary lives south of us..he is far enough away...just move over a bit ...he he he .Then will all have room to place our flags in Ontario;)

The highways are clear so your husband should be ok to get home

George:)

I am not sure why that happens but some times, not all the times, I get this same effect. Pixel Magic I suspect ...

Wendy, when I looked at the map, there were three forum members in the UK. Your flag and Mike H's is near Birmingham and Kevan Q down at Southampton.

What you need to do is zoom in so that you can see all three flags individually.

I only see my flag

I have noticed the total decrease from time to time. I may be wrong but i suspect they are sending out an email and if it bounces they are deleteing the person's account.

Wendy, I go to http://www.frappr.com/petnewsletter , I notice it is a slightly different address to the one you used. But I have just checked and I can definitely see 3 flags  I have just checked using your address and there is only 1 flag in the UK and I am not on the map but I can see mine using the other address :( . I have put myself on "your" map Wendy but decided to change the city and now I am there twice and can't move my marker

Does anyone know how to delete an entry?

Grant

Thanks Eva. Do you know how to remove an incorrect entry and how to move your marker to the exact spot. Bunbury is my closest city but I can zoom in and find exactly where I live. It would not accept Donnybrook:eek:

lindajay
January 25th, 2006, 06:18 PM
Karen, the map you are going to is the OLD one, where we were marking places that the newsletter had arrived. You can tell by looking at some of the messages. The one Wendy is going to is the current one, I believe. Anyone else who can concur?
