Welcome Frode!!

I hope you find what you need here. The forum seems to be dominated by PSElements but there are a number of people around who are familiar with Premier. I'm sure that you'll find lots of people willing to help out with questions.

Hi Frode

Welcome to the forums. I hope you enjoy it here.

There is a forum section for Premier Elements and I believe Tami checks it quite often. But ask whatever you need, we will try to help.

It’s not that strange.
When I instruct beginners in how they should handle there images. I often get the question “do I need the full version or is Element enough for me?” Almost every time I recommend people to by Elements. If they get hooked, they can upgrade later.
I also want to instruct in Elements, and as you guys probable guess, I use CS 2 when I work on my own images.
As in the CS 2, you have to know about tricks and workarounds when you work in Elements. And as it is, I guess you know more about these tricks and workarounds than I do.

I also saw it is a forum about Premier, and there I am absolute blank. I haven’t even installed the program.

At last:
I read some threads before I joined, and it look like a nice forum to participate in. I think I can learn a lot, and maybe I even can come up with some tricks for you sometime.

Thanks for the welcome, all of you

Frode, that is a great idea! I was once in a traning session for Elements, given by a Photoshop expert. Often, I had to stop the instructor and point him that this or that can't be done in Elements, it's a different command or wasn't available at all. Very annoying.

I think your students will be pleased :)

Hi Frode ...

Ahh now I understand ...

I guess the hardest part of using Elements (after using Photoshop) is finding things in the menus :) :) ... why they have to be in different places just beats me !!

If you have people who are still using PSE3 then Grant's tool give a lot of added functionality to Elements ... sadly Adobe blocked a lot of this access when they did PSE4.

Here is a link to Grant's tools ...

http://www.cavesofice.org/~grant/Challenge/Tools/index.html

... and whilst you are over there ... do check out the weekly Challenge. A lot of us participate in it :)

Thanks for leading me to Grants tools, Wendy. I have installed them and had a brief look at them. They look great.

That was something I didn’t know about.

Hi Frode ...

Sadly Adobe have blocked access for some of the tools in PSE4 ... but these do work in PSE4:

* Layer Mask
* Transform Selection
* Guides
* Channels Red
* Channels Green
* Channels Blue

Channel Mixer, Curves and Selective Colour don't. :(
