I'm hoping someone can help me with a scanning problem. I have an Epson 3170 scanner. I have started scanning my wedding photos so I have digital copies, but they are not turning out well. My photos are 4x6 and I am scanning at 300dpi. When I zoom in to 100% in editor to clean up dust spots, etc. they are really, really blurry. I do want to play around with them in PSE3 and try a few collages, etc so I may print some out but probably not larger than their current size (4x6). I also want to use them in a slideshow with pan and zoom. I put a few into my slideshow program (ProShow Gold) and they are quite blurry when zooming in even a little. The pictures were professionally taken so the quality of the prints are quite good...just a few stubborn dust specks that I can never seem to get rid of! Should I be scanning at a higher dpi or scan at more than 100%?

Hi Kari

Can you give us some more info on the digital image after scanning. If you go to Image | Resize Image| then there will be a resolution, pixel and dimension size.

or my new favorite way of getting image dimesions - when your image is open in the work space - RIGHT click on the title bar of that photo and then left click on image size.:)
