This has nothing to do with PSE but it is a burning question....:D :D (pun intended)...;)
What program do you use to burn your data and or music CD's?

Anna,
I also use Nero for music cds and data dvds. It came with my DVD burner and is far better than Record Now, which is the program I used before.

Thanks everybody....
See, here is my problem I do use Windows to burn my music CD's and Record Now for my data. It seems that Record Now is acting up a little so I think it is time to upgrade (been using this since 2002) however, I am finding the prices are crazy. I don't burn that much so I don't need a "high tech program" just something simple to get the job done and their doesn't seem to be any "simple" programs out there.............so that is why I was asking what programs you all use before I make a purchase... . But, it seems you are all using ones that came with your computer as I was with Record Now.......oh well I can see the cash flying now...... But, if you come across anything (reasonable) please let me know...:)

Anna,
Record Now came with my PC, but I stopped using it because (like you have found) I began to have problems. Record Now uses the Sonic burning engine... the same one as in PSE. So I'm not surprised when someone posts a problem burning cds in PSE.
I went over to Windows for burning data cds and used another program for music. Now I'm usimg Nero 100%, except for DVD slide shows.

Back in my Windows days, I used Easy CD Creator (full verion, not the lite one often offerd with drives). I got good results, very little if none unusable CDs. There was even a software to correct sound when importing music from a turntable (very helpful!)

Thanks everybody for your input.
Who would have thought that this would become such an earth shattering matter for me. But, having been burnt on past software programs where you spend good money and they turn out to be junk, I am a little leary to purchase something until I am fully satisfied that this will be the right program for me. Some of the sites that I have look at for Freeware seem to come with a "trial" period so that is a no go for me. I have clogged up my computer with this kind of stuff before and it messed me up big time.
It's not a matter of life and death so I think I will just put it on the back burner for now.:)

How do you use windows to burn data CD's?
Anna,
Go to Windows Explorer, right click on the file(s) that you want to burn to CD, from the menu choose "Send To" and then select your cd writer. Windows will then copy the files to transfer. You will get a pop up balloon saying "You have files waiting to be written to the CD". When you click that balloon, your CD writer opens in My Computer. Then just select "Write these files to CD" from the menu on the left. If the pop up balloon disappears before Windows has finished copying the files, just open your CD drive through My Computer.

Hi Mike
I hate to bring this up again but I needed to get back to it again today.
Ok, now here is my problem in this situation. When I open up Windows Explorer and follow the directions that you have given I don't see my CD writer listed there is there some way I can add it to this list? (I am working with Windows XP Home Edition)
Thanks
Anna

I guess there is always more than one way to do things but the way I do it is I open the folder with the pictures I want to burn and on the left side of the screen there is an option to burn to cd. I slect the ones or whole folder and then I click on that button to burn and it walks me through the rest of the steps.
Let us know if that works for you. :)

Hi Anna. I use Roxio's Easy CD/DVD Creator 7.5. It is a large program that does everything when it comes to CD's & DVD's. They let you use it for about a month before you decide to buy it or not. It's a large download. I'm happy with it, but don't burn a lot of disks. Unlike Explorer, it burns the files right away and doesn't put them in a cache file.
