I have several pictures of my daughter looking at herself in the mirror, but I can't come up with what to do with them. The latest ones are her in her play dress-up clothes, and she's checking out her fancy new look. I thought they would look good altogether, but nothing is really coming together. I thought it would be a cool effect when I took them, but it's not turning out that way. I did some searches in the forum and other places and didn't get any inspiration. Does anyone have ideas? Here are the most recent pics:

Kay,
I see a filmstrip with perhaps another picture of her in the background faded. Also - the first one would make a darling sketch - either pencil or colored pencils. You could also do the first one in black and white and do selective coloring on the hat.

Hi Kay
I just did a quicky (based on nancys suggestion), not really sure what you are looking for.

You could always do a Norman Rockwell imitation:

When I'm looking for inspiration I sometimes type words like girl mirror into Google Images and see what comes up.

Nancy- thanks for the ideas!
Tony- that's funny, I actually have a copy of that print.
Gary- I tried the color pencil thing, but mine doesn't look like yours, what did you do?
I'm also thinking I could take a picture of the trunk with the dress-up clothes in them and then incorporate that into the image. Unfortunately, my daughter is sleeping, so I have to wait for that!

Kay,
That's a wonderful idea! That could be your background image for the filmstrip or perhaps a collage with individual images framed.
Gary,
That's really nice - I have never tried that effect but I like the way it looks.

Kay- I played with the first image using Grant's tools. It isn't a dramatic departure from the original but it has some change in lighting and a softer palette. A very cute little girl, I might add.

That first pic of your daughter is so cute! Play with it. Nancy had some great suggestions for starters!

How gorgeous and the colours are so bright. I think I would take a picture of the trunk and clothes scattered about and make it into grey scale for the back ground and the put the 3 colourful pictures to the side in various frames. Maybe even use a picture of a hand mirror and put her face reflection in it. Lots of possiblities for this one. It's so cute.

I did a watercolour filter and then put a rough pastel filter on top.
I did it in the filter gallery and stacked the filters like layers. That way you can rearrange thme and turn them on and off if you like.
You can get lost playing with multiple filters all day:D :D
Mind you with a little cutie like she is, you might not want to distort her too much.

I tried out a bunch of stuff, and I'm still playing, but here's what I have for now.
I still want to try the watercolor idea, Gary, and I really liked Pauline's idea of the hand mirror, but I haven't yet figured out how to create stuff like that, so that will be for another day.

Suggestions for improvement?
Thanks, everyone, for your help (once again)!

Kay, that is absolutely gorgeous. In my inexperienced opinion, I would not change a thing but someone with more experience will see things that I don't. :D

I found this thread several hours after the conversation seemed to be "over" but I would still like to add my own contribution to the girl in the mirror subject in case anyone would like to see it:

The girl is so pretty, and there are so many variations that can be made on the theme.......
