This is really out topic but.. for any Mac users who has ever attempted to use Windows Media Player (for Mac) as a regular media player (rewind, fast forward, pause and restart), you know how frustrating it was because 90% of the times, sound would become out of sync with video, playback would not restart, etc.

Well, a company just published a plug-in for Quicktime to play Windows Media files (both WMA and WMV). This does make it possible to play those files right in Quicktime with all the great Quicktime functionality (resizing window, video controls, etc.) Even the files on website will play within a Quicktime kiosk (as a MOV would for Mac).

The plug-in is even available at Microsoft's website :

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/flip4mac.mspx

I tested it with a few local files and it's worked very nicely! So far, the plug-in supports Windows Media 9 files.
