Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all had a safe and enjoyable New Year's Eve.

I was wondering if anyone knew if there are any plug-ins available for PE8?

Hi Hawkes,

Generally any plug-in filter that says it works in Photoshop will work in Photoshop Elements. There are some really great (but pricey) plug-ins, and there are also quite a few free ones:

I have these commercial plug-ins and love them:

Here are some sites that have some free ones, too:

Diana,

Generally any plug-in filter that says it works in Photoshop will work in Photoshop Elements.

But, since this question was asked in the Premiere Elements Forum, Hawkles has had questions about Premiere Elements 8, and asks about "PE8" now, I believe Hawkes is looking for Premiere Elements, not Photoshop Elements, plugins.

I have not checked out the links that you posted, but are any applicable to Premiere Elements 8?

Hawkles,

Are you just asking generally about plugins to avoid missing something, or do you have a specific function in your Premiere Elements 8 that you need supplemented?

Just asking in general. I'm not aware of anything I would be looking for I guess until I'm looking for it.

I do appreciate the other links though, as I think my next purchase will be Photoshop Elements 8.

I use NewBlueFX with PE8 (also used them with PE7.)

I admit, though, that I use another video editing program more than PE8, but the plugins are installable in more than one program. They offer free trials on everything as well, so you can try them out and see if they are worth the investment, or that they work with your system. They offer monthly specials as well.

Here is an Adobe list of 3rd party plugins for Premiere Pro. I have not opened all the entries in the list to determine which might work in Premiere Elements as well. I did look at Neat (top of list) and that does work in Premiere Elements 7, never tried it in version 8.

http://www.adobe.com/products/plugins/premiere/index.html

And if you are a camera raw type person, there is camera raw plug (latest update 5.6) for Premiere Elements 8.

Please let me know if any of that helped.

Edited on 01/02/2010 There seems to be a problem with the Premiere Elements 8 Camera Raw 5.6 link that I provided. I will work out the details on that and post them in a subsequent post in this thread.

Sorry about that... I think this happens to many of us who check the forum for new posts by clicking on Todays Posts (under Quick Link) because all the post are mixed together, regardless which sub-forum they're in. And it's easy to miss that the title says PE8, rather than PSE8.

Hawkes has posted that that Photoshop Elements plugin information will be helpful for future use, so all turned out well. Thank you.

Abbreviations are part of today's high pace world, but it often gets confusing trying to connect PSE, PE and all sorts of variations there of with the question posted.

Thanks again for your help.
