During download, Elements asks what programs to install. Only a handful of them are checked by default or you can "check all." As a beginner, which choice should I make? I think I overwhelmed my Toshiba laptop by checking "all." Thanks.

Hi...
I'm not sure what you are referring to here... what are you downloading - PSE itself, the trial..? I installed PSE4 from download and I don't remember it asking to choose programs (e.g. as Microsoft Office does).

Hi Mike,
Thanks for replying. I purchased and downloaded Elements 4.0 on my Toshiba Laptop WIN XP. The prompt asked which parts of Elements I wanted to include in the download. Only a handful were already checked. I could also click "all". I clicked "all" but I'm wondering if it was too much and I should have kept it simple. Thanks for responding.

I believe you are referring to the file association options - checking all may not be what you want since PDF is one of those options and you will want to be able to open PDF files normally.
You can change your options by going to EDIT > FILE ASSOCIATION and check or uncheck the file types you want to open with PSE.
