I'm a fairly new subscriber; have been doing alot of the tutorials, reading all the posts, etc, and I'm finally making some sense out of all of this (here is soooo much to learn!).
Well, I finally got the courage to post my first picture at PixCentral, and I'm ready to hear some input from all of you? Do I need to make any changes? Any suggestions for improvement will be gladly accepted.

Well done, gmill! I like the separate "pages" of the photo and wouldn't suggest changing a thing.

Gmill,
Very cool. I like that a lot. I've got to try one of those myself.
Good job.

Well, that is impressive for a first post! That's a time consuming and challenging technique for a beginner and you did a wonderful job. I have one suggestion-how about signing your work? Either with a text layer or by creating a brush or two? You should be very proud of your work-and I think it deserves a signature!:)

Very nice, Gmill. I gotta learn how to do that. I got a ways to go before I get to something like that, though.
Honest opinion? I'm not big on the colors of the frame or the background. I think it would look better with a nice wide wood frame and a different color background. I'm not sure what color would look good, though.

That is a definite WOW - great job and on my "Must Try" list. You gave it a whole new slant - thanks for sharing Gmill! (What part of the world are you in - if you would like us to have that info you can edit your profile).:) :)

Hi GMill
I really like your first effort, way better than my hundred and first effort. I wish the dog was a little bit further ahead of the person so I could see him better. (I like dogs, can you tell?)
Thanks for sharing.

Nice job! I haven't tackled that particular effect yet but you've given me new motivation. Looking forward to seeing more of your work!

Hi,
I know how you feel (posting your first picture) I just did a few months ago.
All I can tell you go for it... this site is great and the people are all very helpful and very kind... based on your first picture I would expect to see
many more of your pictures...

Nice job. I have been wanting to do that since I saw the tubing picture in Pauline's gallery. That's an ambitious first attempt and you did it very well.

Thank you all for the kind words and encouragement! It was a very ambitious project, and midway through it I was regretting that I chose to make so many "small pictures", but I was pleased with the outcome, and glad I stuck with it. I do have to give credit to Wendy; as it was her mini-tut. that I followed.
Pugdaddy - As far as the background color and the frame, I feel there's definate room for improvement. I tried the wood fame (in PSE4), but didn't think it did much for the effect. I haven't downloaded any frames, or tools, as yet. I keep reading great things about Jodi's fames and Grant's Tools. Both are on my list of things I need, but haven't gotten around to, yet. I agree about the background color; I'll have to play around and see what I can come up with.
Now, that I have a bit of confidence, I will have to post some of my other efforts in the gallery.....

Yea, gmill. That wood frame that's supplied is pretty lame. There certainly are some beautiful ones out there, though. As a matter of fact, I think I'll try making one right now.
Keep your pics coming. After all, that's why we're all in this. We like looking at photos, right? What's the worse that could happen? Someone saying "that sucks"? I've yet to see anyone say that yet on any of the photography sites, although I've been tempted to once or twice. :D

Real nice work gmill. I like how the photo is fragmented, yet the shadow is constant. I also like how the shadow spills over.

Pug, do you remember the film "Bambi" and what the Wise Old Owl told Thumper? "If you can't say something nice, don't say nothing at all" ;)

Hi GMill ...
Oh that is well done ... that is one of the more difficult mini tuts and you really have done a good job on it. I bet you were delighted with the result :)
