The latest edition of Photoshop User features an article on tethering... I wondered whether anyone has tried this outside of CS2..? If so, what software do you use and can you go straight into Adobe Camera Raw?

Mike... I do not get that magazine but you sparked my interest. If you have a minute could you give a brief description on what is 'tethering'

Hi Shane,
Some digital SLR cameras come with tethering software ... it allows you to shoot straight into the computer's hard drive rather that onto a card.

Canon offers it with several of its models, like the 10D. You connect the camera to the computer and using Remote Capture, you can control the camera from the computer, saving the files directly on the computer rather than the memory card.
It's used for studio portrait a lot.

Shane,
The real advantage is that you get to see the image instantly on your monitor, rather than on a small lcd screen. The article refers to connecting straight to Adobe Camera Raw.

Ray,
Is Remote Capture Canon software that comes with the camera..?
