Can anyone help? We have recently bought PSE4 and cannot find how to burn decent quality slideshows. I have tried saving the file as VCD(PAL) and 'high quality' but both options are very poor quality. I have had to return to my previous software to burn an acceptable slideshow.

thanks
Pat

Hi Pat,

Welcome to the forums :)

I'm afraid that burning slideshows to cd in VCD format is one of PSEs greatest weaknesses. Generally, at best VCD gives you the same quality as VHS tape... but most times it is inferior. Then there is the burning engine that PSE uses, which I found to produce lower quality VCDs than software like Nero.

If you want high quality, then the only option is to burn DVDs abd for that you will need a different program such as Premiere Elements, Nero or ProShow Gold.

Hi Mike,
Thanks for your speedy response. I do have Nero but am having problems importing the saved WMV file - does it need to be converted to a different format? After working on my slideshow in PSE4 for hours I then reverted to my old software and did it all again so that I could get a good quality DVD.

You may realise I'm not very technically gifted!

Any further help would be much appreciated.

Cheers
Pat
