Bill,
Question... does the photo need to be taken during this week as well...?

Hi Mike -
According to the strictest interpretation of the rules, yes. However, this week's topic will probably take a little more time to assemble, so I'm sure the judging team will show some lenience. ;-)

Pauline -
It's great! Very, very nicely done. Happy birthday to your son ... I'm sure he loved it. And who knows, maybe someone will make a movie ....
Bill
ps: Please take a picture of the finished model ... I'm a sucker for old T-Birds and I'd like to see it.

The eagle body in my poster was taken this week - does that count? Or do all pieces have to be done this week.:(

Hi Nancy -
Because of the added time this assignment is going to take, the panel of judges have decided to 'look the other way' on the time issue.

Thanks Bill. I don't know if he will paint it. He glued it all together first and then realized he should have painted it first. It would have been easier. He got 3 kits and is now working on another one. It's all painted and not glued. (I stay out of it. glue and putting things together is not my thing!)

Nancy, too funny!! I really should have re-read the challenge! Now as it stands I have spent over an hour here and still haven't read all the posts!! I think we are getting too many members! I spend so much time reading, I haven't got anything done. And my stomach is making a racket telling me it's time for lunch.

Pauline, the model car poster is great, love the detail .
Nancy, that is a very confused owl/cat - love the "descriptions" around the poster
Bill, the title is very dramatic.
Gary, the colours you have used make the image very vivid but the smaller writing is hard to read.

That's one scary looking cat. Good Job! You said it's not one of your better images but its' an example of why you don't throw images out - you never know what you can use them for.:)

Thanks Nancy and a very good point!
:( I really feel like I've betrayed my poor little Mica by portraying her this way when all she was doing was sweetly talking to me. But then...that's why she gets paid the big model's wage! (deluxe cat food) :D

Pat, it may be a "bad" photo but in the use in the right way it works well. Iam sure Mica will forgive you if you give her a bonus!!

PAt,
I know I keep a lot of "bad" photos because sometimes with PSE you can make great things from them.

Gary,
I had to say that so everybody would think I'm just like them....
Of course, all my photos are perfect & need no touching up or PSE work, I just like to hang here & hear all you guys struggling along.;) :D :D :D

Mike, I like your poster for your daughter's video. The "steps" up the side of the tree remind me of the "fire tower" trees near here. In years gone by, the Forest Dept chose very tall Karri trees and put a spiral "ladder" up to the top and made a fire lookout. These fire towers were all through the bush and when a report was made from several towers it was possible to pinpoint the fire. I did climb one when I was a teenager (many, many years ago) and could not walk up steps for a week :D

Karen,
My brother had a job for 6 months when he was in Austraila. He was in the Outback, at some godforsaken place-just watching for fires. That was probably 20 years ago now. I think I remember him saying he was high up in a tree or tower.

And I try so hard to be humble, but it's not easy.:o :D

Thanks, Karen & Nancy. Karen, those tree towers you describe sound crazy! I'm sort of OK with heights, but that sounds out of my league.
Nancy, every time I look at bird-dog you made for Halloween, it cracks me up. It really does look like it belongs. And you did an equally great job on the cat-eagle thing, too! Great idea. And the glow is a nice, subtle touch as well. :)
Everyone, your entries are great. Bill, you crack me up. Pauline, wonderful. I bet your son loves it. Gary, very Lord of the Ringish. Pat, I'm not going to sleep tonight. I used to like cats...
Looking forward to Saturday's enteries!

Mike - you're the first person to pick up on - mention - the glow. I thought it was a clever little play on the radioactive thing but then my kids say I'm just getting more wierd the longer I do this stuff. They freaked out over birddog. My son-in-law said he was damaged for life by it. Hey - like Carol says - if it's not fun, why do it!

Mike, that is the best tree movie poster I've ever seen.:)
