Hi Klimoman... welcome to Elements Village.

That technique is commonly called a word frame. Here is a link to a thread that discusses it. Also, in Photoshop Elements Techniques magazine, there is a detailed tutorial with screenshot illustrations on how to create one of these templates. You can find out how to subscribe here: www.photoshopelementsuser.com (http://www.photoshopelementsuser.com)

In addition to the bi-monthlh magazine, a subscription includes access to around 400 online video tutorials and many written tutorials. You can also purchase and download a PDF version of a single magazine, if you wish. The issue with the Word Frame tutorial is Vol. 6 No.1 (Jan/Feb 2009).

When I recently subscribed to the Elements Techniques magazine I received a link that enabled me to download for free every magazine since Volume 1 Issue 1, all as PDFs.

I have downloaded several of the back issues, but they were not free for me, I think 4.95 per issue. Where is that link?

Grandidi,

When you sign in to the Subscriber Area, on the right under the Renew Today banner is a box that reads 'Get Every Issue. Download PDFs of any past issue.' Click on it and it takes you to a page where you can choose which issues to dl.

Bayla,

When did they start giving these for free? I know I paid for a bunch of them.

Grandidi,

It started in July, 2009... see that month's "From The Editor (http://www.photoshopelementsuser.com/emails/editor_note/editor_note_2009_07.html)".
