In PSE 6 the tools bar show two colums, is it possible to make it one column?
Can you add or subtract tools to the tool bar?

Hi ...
Yes you can make it one bar ... just grab the top of the tool bar (there are some small dots at the top of it)
Once you have grabbed it them drag it over to the left .. but I think you may have to have a jigh screen resolution for it to work. ... but try it and see :)
... in answer to your second questio. No I am afraid that the tool bar can't be added to or subtracted from :)

There seems to be an exception to the one-column toolbar... I can't get it to drag to one column on my laptop, evidently because of the aspect ratio of the screen.

Yep, that's right. Same on my Sony laptop as well.

I have a 24 inch IMac and I run windows prgs in it using Fusion, I was able to change the toolbar in the Mac Version of PSE 6 but not luck in the Windows version I even tried to changing my screen resolution but still it was no go.

Same here. I have an aspect ratio of 1280 x 800 on my laptop, but still have a 2-column toolbar.
But with PS CS4, I can have a single toolbar.

I have both PSE3 and PSE6 on my PC. In PSE3 it defaults to a one column toolbar but I can click and drag on it to change to a two column toolbar. In PSE6 the default is a two column toolbar, but the only way I can get it to show up as two columns is by changing the screen resolution which I don't want to do. I've now got used to the two column toolbar.

Sounds like you have it pegged...my laptop has a 1440x900 resolution, and in E6 I can do 1 column (when docked) or 2 columns when floating.
