Hey, I'm trying to move my text over just a little bit on a poster I'm trying to make. THe problem is that my selection seems to "jump" from one place or another. It is either too close to my edge or too close to the photo. I can't place it where I want it to go. Is there anyone that can help? THanks, Angie

You have snap to grid selected - that's what causes the jump
view> snap to grid
You can turn off snap to grid - but if you want to keep it on - use the move tool and arrow keys to move your text in small increments.
Another thing I found useful when I can't move stuff in the small increments I want is I zoom in really large and then the move tool is more forgiving - allowing you to move things ever so slightly.

Oh Great! Thanks you so much. I tried it and it works now. Have a great day!

After typing the text, press Ctrl-T (free transform), then use the arrow keys to nudge the text into place.
Or after typing text, select the Move tool, then hold the Ctrl key down and drag the text where you want it.

Thank you Janice and Diana for answering aivaughn5's question (and to aivaughn5 for asking it). I have been having this problem and all I had to do was do a quick search on this forum and, like magic, there was the answer.
Thanks to all of you who take the time to answer questions. It's greatly appreciated.
