It is overwhelming when you are just beginning!!
Look under the category "Helpful Links" under "Learn More" and there are links to tons of sites with tutorials-video and written.

If you are a subscriber to the newsletter Photoshop Elements Techniques, at photoshopelementsuser.com, you have access to many tutorials and videos in addition to a great newsletter.

I'm sure there are many DVD's available but since I do better with something written, I don't keep up with them.

You will find the members here are quite knowledgeable and always eager to help.

There is just SO much that you can do with elements but it takes a bit of effort to learn. It is, however, very addicting!

cookin, welcom to a whole new world.
It's very confusing the first time you launch any application.
My suggestion is to browse the forums to get an idea of terminology, questions asked and the answers and suggestions given.
Fortunately and unfortunately almost everything you do in PSE can be be done in more than one way.
Stick to the basics before getting into the alternative ways.
You can get advice on both PSE and photography here.
If some of the answers are over your head, just ask for a simple step by step instruction.

I know how you feel. Ive had Elements 7 for almost a year now, but am really just now getting familiar with it as I never used it at first. I have just started getting in deeper with it and have been using random media from wherever in order to go through the tutorials and make sure I try all there is to offer. For a while I was just sort of stuck doing the same two or three things over and over. I've found that I am learning more quickly and seem to be retaining more of the information if I just get a bunch of images that work with different types of tutorials so I can get used to using everything. I dont want to limit myself because there really are no limits with Photoshop. Stick with it and before long, you'll probably be like me.....completely addicted!!

Keep plugging away. It is a lot to learn, so just remember "baby steps" and try my motto of "being too stubborn to know when to give up".
